July 5, 2026 - Navajo Lake
Water Temp: 68-74°F
Conditions: Sunny and calm in the AM, slight breeze in PM
Species caught: Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Pike, Largemouth Bass, Catfish
Have had a string of great trips the last couple weeks. Every trip has seen at least one pike, at least one smallmouth over 2lbs and as many bluegill as you can reel in. We are definitely in the dog days of summer. Still, I am finding all of my quality fish in less than 8 feet of water. As the water level falls, crayfish and bluegill are displaced and must move to new homes. The predators are there waiting.
A couple catfish swam up to take my jig and worm in the Pine Arm. The water is quite stained up there compared to the rest of the lake. I am finding success in areas that receive less fishing pressure.
