August 25, 2026 - Echo Canyon Lake
Water Temp: 72-76°F
Conditions: Sunny and calm with breeze strengthening into the afternoon, occasional monsoons in the PM.
Species caught: Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Crappie, Green Sunfish, Rainbow Trout
Took a break from the big lake for some boat maintenance. Decided to visit Echo Canyon to test out the new trolling motor.
The milfoil is lush and tall. Flipping in the grass every 5-10 feet is the ticket fro targeting bigger fish. A finesse worm on a texas rig got the most bites, with a flipping jig and larger texas rig also wrangling a few. Big fish of the day came on a frog.
The catfish are spawning. Their beds of clean sand are easily visible in the shallows. We did not catch any but I'm sure they will take the right bait.
