Water Temp: 74-84°F
Conditions: the usual down-canyon breeze in the early AM. Sunny and calm generally with occasional monsoons threatening in the PM.
Species caught: Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Pike, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie
The dog days are here. The bite has gotten tougher. Larger fish are showing up but they are harder to get a hook in. Fishing pressure has set in. Many fish you catch have been caught before.
With the water dropping as much as 4" per day, the deep ledge bite is constantly changing. The thermocline cannot establish itself. Pike and bass are still lurking in the shallows. Larger pike are hanging in deep trees.
There is no shortage of bait. Bluegill are everywhere. Smallmouth are spitting up craws of all sizes.
