Bass Boat Trips for Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass

Southwest Colorado and northwest New Mexico offer spectacular opportunities for catching trophy bass. Navajo Lake held the NM state record smallmouth bass for many years at just under 7 pounds. The Colorado state record largemouth came from a little lake near Pagosa Springs and still stands at 11 pounds, 6 ounces.

Most of our fisheries are clear water reservoirs. Crayfish, yellow perch and bluegill are the main forage bases. Larger fish will feed on the copious amounts of trout and kokanee stocked by our wildlife departments.

The baits and techniques we use will depend on the time of year, weather and mood of the fish. A variety of power and finesse techniques can catch fish on any given day, and I employ both spinning and casting rods to put fish in the boat. Clients are welcome to bring some of their own gear and make suggestions as to where and how they want to catch fish. At Navajo Lake, for example, topwater presentations, deep ledge fishing, and flipping in standing timber can all be employed in a typical day. If you love milfoil, we have a couple of small reservoirs chock full of it, and the bass love it as well!

I offer half and full days of fishing for bass and panfish to anglers of all ages and skill levels.
All gear and tackle is provided. Just bring your snacks, fishing license, and your rain and sun protection.
